Technology started two million years ago. I'm sure you heard about Gutenberg and Edison.
Because of them, we have the printing press and the electric light.
China was the first country to deal with technology and to create most of the technology tools.
Technology is growing day after day. It's one of the industries that the COVID-19 pandemic didn't affect.
During its growth, technology went through many things.

The logo of Mozilla Firefox is not a Fox
The logo of the Mozilla Firefox web browser created in 2002 is actually a fluffy red panda. The fact that the red panda is also called Firefox created a lot of discussions. What we recognize as a flurry fox is a red panda that is Mozilla Firefox mascotte. Mozilla used to have a Firefox Live page where you could watch a few red pandas on camera
The Phantom Vibration Syndrome is real
Many times happens to us or to someone else we know to feel the phone vibrating even when is not. This feeling has a name. It's called "Phantom Vibration Syndrome". This reflection is due to the long hours of use of phone devices. It's something that nowadays is common, like the need to have our mobile phone with us and feel lost without it.
More phones than toilets
Nowadays the cell phone is more important than having a toilet! More people have access to phones than to toilets. Of a total of 7.7 billion people in the world, only 4.5 billion have access to working toilets.While 6 billion have cell phones.
The internet empire
Cell phones are more and more used to access the internet and make purchases. Especially during the lockdown, online shopping had a boom. When we talk about the internet, it's hard to define the limits. The Internet is everything. Those who don't have access to the internet don't have access to the normal. We use the internet to stream videos, movies, and music. The biggest and most used streaming platform is Netflix. Every day we spend 164 million hours streaming on Netflix. But there are other good alternatives to Netflix as you can read in my other article.
Radio Vs YouTube
The Internet is also music. Now there is iTunes or Spotify plus other channels such as Youtube. But did you know that the Radio was the only tool for to listening music? The radio took 38 years to reach an audience of 50 million. While YouTube took only 10 months to reach the same audience.

About iTunes, do you know that in its terms and conditions, they ask you not to produce nuclear weapons? Check the letter g section and read it yourself!
Facebook has been one of the most used Social Media
Till now it counts more likes than photos. Every day, over 300 million photos are uploaded to Facebook, while 800 million likes are given out per day. Social media are also used to meet loved ones. Facebook, for example, added a feature for dating, and seems working well. 40% of couples met online! but also 33% of divorces are caused by the use inappropriate of Facebook.

Technology is a day-to-day part of our lives, people are obsessed. There are in fact more and more families that named their kids after technology. Having an "Apple" "Mac" and "Siri" as part of the family is becoming the new normal. Oh, don't forget that your little girl can be "Alexa" too.

Phone numbers are more expensive than devices
That's crazy if you think that only the phone number can cost more than the device itself. In fact, we have the most expensive phone number. In 2006 the Qatar telecom company hosted a charity auction. Selling the phone number 666-6666.This was bought by an anonymous bidder for $2.75 million.

The first time a cell phone call was made, was in New York in 1973 by an employee at Motorola, Martin Cooper.19 years later, in 1992 was sent the first "Merry Christmas" text message.Now, think how many messages are sent every Christmas and in our daily life and from all over the world. That's crazy!
Conspiracy theories Vs Technology
Technology is also hated and scary for some. Many people see Technology as a danger to the environment. There are a lot of conspiracy theories about 5G. Some think that the new advanced robot can replace them at work and in their daily tasks.
There are many other fun facts about technology.Do you know that Google once hired 200 goats to trim the grass around their head office?Can you believe that the Apollo 11 astronauts couldn't afford their insurance? Technology is infinite! and their failure too!We will never know what happened to all the companies that tried their products in New Zealand.
