Presenting the gaming market 2021
Case study
Brief 🗒
I have recently been assigned this task by Venatus, a marketing gaming company in London.
One year after a pandemic that affected most of peoples lives and businesses, how is the gaming industry going?
What percentage of users is the most engaged? did the gaming trends change over time? What video games are the top favorites?
Please create an interactive PowerPoint presentation that can help us guide our speaker and audience through the next industry event.
Creative process 💡
01
Research
I started with general research regarding the most affected businesses during the pandemic.
Most of the results confirmed that transport and creatives are the most affected industries.
On the opposite side, the pandemic helped the gaming market to grow—the fact of being indoors offered more chances to find new ways to spend time. Video games seemed to be the favorite hobby of people in quarantine and lockdown. Through games, friends and families find a way to spend time together even if apart.
The number of users increased and the number of women engaged in the video gaming world developed dramatically.
02
Plan structure
I decided to stay in no more than 10 slides.
Each slide includes a headline to give an idea of the topic that will follow, bullet points to help go through the topic, and visuals to give a more appealing discussion and a better idea around the topic.
03
First draft and feedback
After creating the first version of the presentation, I asked for feedback and cut down the content of the presentation to the most relevant. I decided to include more details as a follow-up of the presentation, something that the audience can have access to after the presentation.
We want to make the presentation engaging and to achieve that, we need to keep only the essential information at the front.
